James D. Fairchild

James D. Fairchild is a managing partner of Fairchild & Dalrymple and one of Central Virginia’s most respected attorneys. Before entering the legal profession, James spent over a decade as a small business owner and in the construction industry — experience that gives him a grounded, practical understanding of the challenges his business and individual clients face every day.

James pursued his legal education at Liberty University School of Law, where he gained hands-on courtroom experience working with local law firms and trying cases for nearly a year with the Bedford VA Commonwealth Attorney’s Office. That early exposure to real litigation prepared him to advocate confidently and effectively for every client who walks through his door.

Recognised by his peers and the wider legal community, James was named a Lynchburg Business Magazine Top Lawyer for Business in 2021 — a testament to the trust that clients and fellow attorneys place in his judgment and skill.

James holds undergraduate degrees in both Theology and Business, a combination that shapes his approach to the law — he is as attentive to the human dimension of every case as he is to its legal strategy.
